Faith

Matulaitis Chapel

Matulaitis Nursing Home is a Catholic facility, but we are open to individuals of all faiths seeking holistic care encompassing physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs. More and more medical science acknowledges that faith has an important role in the healing process.

We have a Catholic Chaplain in residence. Daily Mass is celebrated in our inspiring Chapel. Interfaith services are offered regularly. Pastoral/Spiritual Care is available to all residents. Residents can enjoy moments of quiet contemplation and religious services in our beautiful chapel, enhanced by splendid stained glass windows. Religious services of all denominations are listed on the monthly event calendar.

Spiritual/Pastoral Care is provided to all residents according to their beliefs. The Pastoral Care Team may provide support, comfort and practical assistance to residents, their families and staff in discerning ethical questions and in creating spiritual presence reflecting Christian charity.

Our Mission integration is not an activity to be performed, but is an attitude of mind and heart. We believe each stage of life is a natural holistic process with its own characteristics, pains, and joys. We believe that aging and sickness can be a time of growth, blessing, and opportunity:

  • A time to deepen and grow spiritually through prayer and reflection.
  • A time to develop and deepen relationships with God and loved ones.
  • A time to accept suffering, diminishment and loss, participating in their transformative power.
  • A time to integrate life’s experiences in preparation for eternal life.

Matulaitis Outdoor StatueOur core values:

  1. Respect of human life and inherent dignity of each person.
  2. Attend to the whole person: body, mind and spirit.
  3. Provide compassionate and competent care in a home-like Christian milieu.
  4. Participate in the healing ministry of Jesus (Act in communion with the Church).
  5. Foster an attitude “Overcome evil with good”.
